I love how I can store it in a glass jar on the shelf! It’s a powdered laundry soap, smells like peppermint, and you just need one little scoop per load. For our laundry soap, I’ve been using Molly’s Suds. I also have been trying to switch over to more organic cleaning supplies. Wooden handles for my brooms, a copper dustpan, all hanging on the peg storage rack I made out of a board and some dowels. This cleaning wall is an example of how I’ve collected every day cleaning supplies, and made them something pretty. I’ve tried to be mindful about investing in timeless pieces. Less stuff means less to clean, which helps me focus my time on being mommy to my littles. I’ve gravitated towards simple & minimal spaces a lot though out the years. And the extra storage for my cleaning bottles & bath salts was an extra bonus. I didn’t want them to stick out too much, so these two small shelves allowed me to create pretty visual interest. With that said, I got super excited when Crates & Pallet sent me these 6″ brackets for shelves. That lifestyle has definitely contributed to my decorating style: Minimal, Functional, but Beautiful Decor. I always have a hard time putting nails in the wall- I think its becuase we moved around so much while Silas was in the Marines. The hardware for the barn door track we used is from Crown Bolt (Everbilt)– you can get them at Home Depot. And now I have a little folding shelf, which is super nice since we have a top loading washer. I am obsessed with the extra storage it gives us. It was a tight fit because there was very little wiggle room between the wall and the washer & dryer, but this set up worked perfect! Silas built storage shelves to hold these awesome white washed crates from Crates And Pallet. I think it’s important to share the before so that you guys can see the transformation- mess and all! When it comes to renovations, things have to get worse before they get better.Īnd look at it now! The mess was worth it!

The left photo shows how it looked the day we moved in… the right is from when we were smack in the middle of tearing up the bead board, floor, and getting the pantry installed. Here are two reminders of what this space looked like before. I’ll have to do a more detailed post about how I stripped it down (safely removing the lead paint), replaced the glass, and how I bleached, sealed, and waxed the wood. It took a good 8 months to get it to look like this, but I was finally able to set aside two weeks to finish it up. I stripped away all those years of paint (and LEAD!) to bring it back to the original wood. After months of searching high and low on craigslist and fb marketplace, I finally found this antique beauty that was original to a 200 year old farmhouse. And I wanted a sliding barn door across the long hallway leading up to the laundry room opening. But all opinions are my own, and I only share things I love & think you will too.ĭon’t these two spaces together just make your heart skip a beat? Ever since we moved into this house, I wanted the pantry and laundry room to be side by side, just like this. I received products for this project, and there are affiliate links in this post. Ahhhh! That got the ball rolling, and motivated me to finish up this space.ĭisclaimer: This post was a partnership with Crates And Pallet, and CrownBolt. MY FARMHOUSE LAUNDRY ROOM IS DONE! What? I seriously wasn’t going to even TOUCH this space for several more months, but then my friends over at Crates And Pallet asked me if I wanted to do a project with their new white washed crates. Go HERE for an updated view of this space.
